We are seeking a Private Label Government Segment Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA.
Position Description If partnering with our government sales teams, developing capabilities needed to efficiently support the government sales and service process, directly impacting sales efforts, interacting with large government customers, and driving value are your passions, this role is for you. McKesson Brands is seeking a Private Label Government Segment Manager who will fuel the growth of our private label in this prioritized sector.
By developing program capabilities, influencing product development, supporting large customer proposals, and providing overall vital market and product expertise from a manufacturer perspective you will make a significant impact. You will have financial growth and profitability responsibility and will focus on increasing McKesson Brands sales via new and existing customers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for being part of the sales process, understand the importance of process and satisfying product requirements, have an understanding of the government market (ranging from local to federal), be energetic in collaborating with sales teams, and will have strong financial acumen and data analysis skills.
Single point of contact for all McKesson Brands sales and program development activities within government segment : Support for all bids for new and existing business. May include support for a range of prime vendor and supply schedule programs. Stockpile opportunities and correctional opportunities will also be in scope.
Development of capabilities needed to support government segment: Leadership in relation to needs associated with satisfying government bid needs. May relate to product attributes, testing, country of origin, commitment letter requirements, or other. Core goal of best positioning McKesson Brands for streamlined sales efforts.
Identification of product opportunities and influencing the building of a government segment product portfolio: Collaborating with Product Development to further support the building of a portfolio that meets various government requirements or appeals to needs specific to government segments.
Market understanding: Serve as a subject matter expert in relation to important legislation and trends, requirements, and forward-looking opportunities. Ability to "see around the corner". Acquire and maintain competitive intelligence regarding private label activities within the markets.
Collaboration with Director of Government Product Strategy: Work closely with the director to ensure private brand activities are aligned with our overall government product strategy
7+ years relevant experience
5+ years of experience with sales support (marketing, direct sales, sales program development)
3+ years experience working with McKesson Brands/other private label product portfolio and/or government segment experience
1+ years experience interacting with legal, compliance and customer contract teams
Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Product portfolio business development experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with various stakeholders in a matrixed environment
Up to 15%
Education 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience
