The role is designed to ensure QI fully understands the inherent operational risks and their associated controls for each of its sub-advisers, fund providers and distribution platforms to enable a comprehensive assessment of non-investment risks for QI's Authorised Fund Manager requirements.

About the role
Key Responsibilities and Scope of role:
This role will have several different responsibilities, below is an insight into the work that you will play a key part in:
Review of external (fund and distribution platform) non-investment risks in QI using a risk based approach decided by the Head of ODD;
Undertaking the work and delivering the ODD reports in relation to both; the initial 'on-boarding' of new, and the on-going BAU monitoring of existing, 3rd party fund managers/platforms.
Being part of the sub adviser approval process and working directly with the Sub Advised Fund Forum to make operational recommendations to our sub advisers;
Helping colleagues understand the importance of ODD issues in the context of the investment universe.
Contributing to the ODD framework to reflect best practice and capturing key industry topics e.g. ESG.
Internal stakeholder management;
Work closely with members of the Investment, Fund Research, Commercial, Investment Risk, Compliance Advisory and Legal teams to ensure that priorities are agreed, and deadlines are met.
Prepare, circulate and present ODD summary reports to key stakeholders and internal fora.
Professional qualifications relating to investment, e.g. IMC
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Demonstrable technical knowledge in key areas such as investment operations, fund governance, asset valuation, asset custody, compliance processes and regulatory regimes;
Experience in oversight and challenge of third-party fund managers;
Have direct investment management operational due diligence experience;
Possess a strong understanding of the asset management industry;
Be knowledgeable across a broad range of fund structures: hedge funds, retail funds, private equity, real estate funds;
