Summary

Precisely and accurately performs and evaluates a variety of technical procedures in the different specialties and sub-specialties based on State licensure and experience. Utilizes all principles of quality control in the performance of laboratory testings according to established DMC and Tenet Healthcare Corporation Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and guidelines. Adheres to all Federal, State and Regulatory Agency standards (Joint Commission, AHCA, AABB). Serves as a technical resource and performs certain section supervisory functions. Assists in the administration of the Laboratory Department. Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency/disaster.

Blood Bank

Education

Required: Associate's Degree in Science or other qualification recognized by the State of Florida for Technologist level licensure

Experience

Required: 3 years as a medical technologist in acute care facility with demonstration of increasing responsibilities. Blood Bank experience required.

Certifications

Required: Medical Technologist - State of Florida or licensure at the supervisor level.Licensure in multiple areas; ASCP Certification preferred
