Responsibilities Thestudyareas for this position center on cancer genomics, tumor microenvironment,chromatin andepigeneticprofiling, cell-freeDNAfrom liquid biopsies,andtranslationofcancerbiomarkersto improve treatment strategies. Thesuccessful applicant willengage inthe following: - Plan, implement, and manage startup of wet-lab operations in the experimental laboratory at Steam
- Develop management planfor reproducible scienceincludingdocumentation plan foranalysis, code,andlaboratorySOPs. Provide tutorials, workshops, individual training on experimental design, data analysis, and instrumentation use.
- Perform complex lab experiments and manage laboratory/program projects and resources
- Superviselaboratory-based studiesand provide day-to-day supervision, guidance,training,and support forlab members.Supervise direction and performance management.Allocate and monitor effort and progress,manage workloads and priorities,redistribute or negotiate addition of resources as required.
- Manage financial forecasting and reporting activities for laboratory/program
- Manage experimental and computational projects. Work with internal and external partners to define project goals, resources, priorities.
- Coordinate meeting agendas, track project progress, writeprogress reports.Ensure deliverables are completed within projected timelines.
- Facilitate and track communications and serve as laboratory/program representative to PI in meetings with collaborators, vendors, administration, and regulatory agencies/depts, as necessary to ensure success of the research program
- Ensure regulatory and policy compliance with human genomic data security, privacy and confidentiality
- Participate in and assist in grant preparation process, including application and renewal process, progress reports, reviewing proposals for accuracy
- May participate in and assist with manuscript preparation for publication in scientific journals and presentation preparation for conferences and symposiums
Other responsibilitiesmay include: - Interview new hires and facilitate onboarding
- Support new Ha lab members to integrate into and navigate the lab and Hutch culture, resources, compute environments, and connect with people or groups throughout the Hutch

Qualifications Applicants must haveat least abachelorsdegree withtraininginoneor moreof these disciplines: - Biology, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology or related field is required
Applicantsrequiremorethan 5 years of research laboratory experience andtwo years laboratory management experienceand must have the following skills: - Works well in team environments, has strong communication/organization skills and is detail oriented
- Highly motivated individual who thinks independently and also enjoys working in dynamic, collaborative, multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
Preferredapplicantswillhave someor allof the following skills and experience: - Expertise/skills in molecular biology techniques is desired: RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, cell culture
- Experience with cell-free DNA, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, epigenomics, single-cell assays is a strong asset
- Experience with programming (R, Python, C/C++, Perl, Java, Matlab or other languages for research) is a plus
- Experience with analyzing sequencing data and cancer genome data is considered a plus
- Experience with high performance computing environments and cloud computing environments is a plus
- Demonstrated scientific publication track record
- Leadership and management training a plus
