Location: Hyde Park Campus Job Description: - Helps develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan.
- Supports data collection and analytical needs of research projects.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain data and/or specimens.
- Assist with preparation of reports, manuscripts, and other documents.
- Assist with cleaning and sterilizing glassware.
- Assist with maintaining and ordering equipment and supplies.
- Assist in maintaining an organizing lab space and inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Ensures project compliance with different policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
- Ensures compliance with institution, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
- Provides routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.
- Complies with institution, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Education: - Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the research being conducted.
Experience: - A minimum of one year of relevant research experience in a related job discipline.
- Experience in conducting research experiments of cell culture, western-blot, PCR, Flowcytometry, and mouse xenograft implantation.
- Experience in working in a research environment.
Technical Skills or Knowledge - Knowledge of basic computer proficiency including computer programs and standard laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant scientific field.
- Knowledge or research techniques or methods for stem cell biology, stem cell differentiation technology and cancer research.
- Knowledge of regulatory policies and procedures.
Preferred Competencies - Demonstrated problem-solving, organization, analytical and coordination skills including attention to detail.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend scientific and technical literature, and methods to stay abreast of developments in the field.
- Ability to work independently and collaborative with other lab personnel.
- Familiarity with first principles simulation techniques.
- Assist in training lab personnel occasionally.
