The primary purpose of this position is to support the Research Program Manager and Vice Chair of Research on current and pending research projects. This position will be the primary research network coordinator for a recently awarded multi-site, multi-million dollar, five year NIH funded grant. This $35+ million project will collect data on over 5000 participants across 32+ hospitals. Collaborators from 25 institutions will contribute to this project. This position will work closely with the study Co-PIs and Department Research Program Manager to organize, track and oversee the entire project. This position will supervise 7 different teams (Enrollment, Follow-up, Biostats, Data Management, UNC Recruitment, Biologics, and Regulatory teams) at UNC as the data coordinating center. Each team has between 3-9 employees and each team has a supervisor that reports directly to this position.
Education and Experience:
-Must have experience supervising a large research study including multiple individual teams -Must have a high level of coordination and organizational skills. -Experience leading quality improvement efforts -Possess outstanding leadership skills. -Possess strong analytical skills. -Excellent problem – solving and researching skills are required. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a must to be successful in this profession. -Previous experience coordinating a research study, preferably a multi-site study.
