The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Department of Radiology, is actively seeking a full time faculty member for the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology/ MRI Physicist.
This individual will provide clinical and research physics support for all MRI equipment and MRI procedures. The MRI physicist will, under the direction of the Radiology Chair or designee, be responsible for the optimization, technical evaluation, and precise calibration of MRI equipment to produce the safest and highest quality imaging. The MRI physicist will also oversee and be responsible for ensuring that the MRI safety program complies with regulatory standards and ensures an MRI safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Minimum 1-year experience as MR physicist in a clinical and research setting. Experience with grant funded research preferred as PI or major contributor. Advanced degree in Medical Physics or related discipline, PhD preferred. ABR certified in Medical Physics, American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (ABMRS) certified MR safety expert (MRSE) or obtained within 6 months of hire.
