The Experience Database Analyst reports to the Experience Database Manager and is based in the firm’s Virginia Beach, Richmond, or Atlanta office. The Analyst is responsible for researching the firm’s clients and matters, managing data collection workflows, and providing support for the firm’s intelligence platform, Foundation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Researches matters and clients and completes profiles in Foundation, including utilizing internal and external resources, surveys, internal communications, and interviews.
Makes recommendations regarding the configuration of the system and/or processes for experience collection.
Facilitates departmental support in myriad capacities.
Creates matter profiles for legacy experience and expertise for lateral hires.
Validates data flowing into Foundation from other systems and works with the appropriate teams to correct data in the source systems.
Researches and assigns D&B numbers for new clients and makes recommendations for integration improvements and expansion.
Uploads client logos and verifies/researches client terms and permissions.
Drafts matter narratives and client descriptions for internal use.
Enters and validates matter and client permissions and restrictions.
Collaborates with the team to identify opportunities for improvement within the Foundation database as well as the data collection processes and workflows in place.
Manages and updates Foundation export templates.
Creates and leads training in support of system users.
Regularly audits data in Foundation through reports and performs data cleanup.
Manages the attorney matter survey process and provides support as necessary.
Helps update processes to accommodate Foundation software updates.
Communicates with the vendor regarding issues, questions, and enhancement requests.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Prior law firm or professional services firm experience is preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm data, as appropriate.
Exceptional research skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands while meeting deadlines.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Experience working with a broad array of legal practices including transactional, litigation and regulatory is highly preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
College degree required and two (2) or more years in a paralegal or relevant research experience, preferably in a legal or professional services firm, or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
