The University of Washington Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a temporary/hourly, alternative shift, MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER 1 OR 2. The individual in this position will assess and assist with planning for patients and their families needing discharge assistance, intervene in behavioral health crises, and support patients and families experiencing loss and grief. This position reports to the UWMC Social Work & Care Coordination department and is supervised by a licensed social worker. RESPONSIBILITIES: Social Worker 2: This position may be hired as a Social Worker 1 or 2, depending on candidate's qualifications. REQUIREMENTS: SOCIAL WORKER 1: A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education AND six months of experience in a health care delivery system. OR Equivalent education/experience. Health care experience can include a practicum placement as part of a social work training program and/or employment experience. SW1 LEGAL REQUIREMENT: Within 90 days of hire must hold one of the following credentials issued by the state of Washington: Agency Affiliated Counselor Licensed Social Work Associate -Advanced Licensed Social Work Associate - Independent Clinical SOCIAL WORKER 2: A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND two years of full-time professional social work experience in a health-care setting eligible to begin social work practicum instruction for the School of Social Work. OR Equivalent education/experience.
