Essential Functions: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, provide scientific and technical assistance to complete laboratory-based work in a cancer research laboratory studying the role of bone tumor microenvironment in metastatic prostate and kidney cancers.Perform laboratory techniques and participate in all aspects of the research process which encompass various cell culture experiments involving use of pharmacological inhibitors, lentiviral transfection and gene silencing, as well as molecular biology techniques including cloning, PCR, and Western blotting.Assist with maintenance and genotyping of mouse colonies and in vivo tumor studiesParticipate in implementing research objectives, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory and protocol guidelines. Maintain and organize the laboratory work areas including routine maintenance on laboratory equipment as required. Assist with ordering and organization of required research supplies and records. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education Bachelor's degree in a science-related field Experience Entry level (less that a year of job-related experience)Some previous research experience strongly preferredAbility to perform basic laboratory techniques and work independently and collaboratively. Ability to analyze, summarize and interpret research findings and data. Excellent time management and organization skills.
