 Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a public, comprehensive community college. As part of the 23 college Virginia Community College System, PVCC serves the city of Charlottesville and the six adjacent counties. PVCC is nationally recognized for its outstanding transfer curriculum; its relationship with its neighbor, the University of Virginia; and its Workforce Development Programs serving local employers. Applications will be received and considered on a continuous basis, as openings occur. We are seeking to identify qualified and interested adjunct faculty members in the following teaching disciplines and/or subject areas: *ELECTRONICS/MANUFACTURING* The adjunct professor will be responsible for teaching electronics and manufacturing courses in a hands-on experiential format. Professor will have knowledge and application of electronic devices, current microcontrollers, mechanical processes and machinery, and basic communication protocols. Students in these classes build on fundamental electronics and manufacturing skills to troubleshoot, design, and build different projects related to the course material. The instructor will be responsible for making sure the projects focus on industry skills and the materials are provided for students in a timely manner. Skills & Abilities: * Ability to create positive classroom/lab culture that provides foundational knowledge for electronics and manufacturing courses * Teach in a hands-on, experiential format * Knowledge of a basic microcontrollers * Knowledge of programming languages and how to troubleshoot * Create open-ended problems for students to solve creatively * Classroom management of lab-based classrooms, including maintaining equipment and supplies * Work with students in a diverse environment with a sensitivity to all members of the community.

| The successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in the field or Associate's degree in the field with demonstrated competency in the teaching field. In addition, two years of related occupational experience is required. |
