This Quality Assurance Specialist I position is for the Dining Department at Iowa State University.

Summary
Creates policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components, and operations. Maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures, quality audits, and reviews.

Example of Duties
• Conducts internal quality controls to ensure established quality procedures and norms are followed.
• Conducts technical and/or complex quality analysis and tests of a quality control program.
• Recommends necessary quality procedure changes.
• Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms.
• Prepares reports on rejected or defective products.
• Assists in the development of new methods and procedures.

• Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision
• Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode
• Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope
• Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained
