Make Improvements in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases as a Medical Lab Scientist II, Pathology, Core Lab

As a Medical Lab Scientist II, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Responsibilities include:

• Utilizing requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems.
• Evaluating and reporting patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods.
• Performing quality control procedures and contributing to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of new procedures, instrumentation, etc.
• May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems.
• Training new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures.
• Serving as a resource for less experienced staff.

Work Schedule:

• 1:30pm – 9:30pm
• Weekend requirements: every third
• Call requirements: none

Education Required:

• At least one of the below is required:
• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science
• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology
• Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field with Required Licensure/Certification and with Equivalent Experience

Experience Requirements:

• 2 Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience – Moderate and High Complexity Testing Required
• Or Equivalent Education Requirement

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

• At least one of the below is required
• American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification
• National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification
• Or Equivalent Education Requirement
