POSITION PURPOSE:
We are looking for a highly motivated Business Risk Analyst to join our regional Risk team. The ideal candidate will be confident in his/her skills, have a collaborative attitude, able to work hard and join a fast-paced work environment. The position will report into the Head of Business Risk, Asia-Pacific, and will be split 50% to risk reporting/analysis and 50% to business resilience. In your role supporting business risk reporting/analysis, your focus will be on harnessing data to drive insights that helps us manage and mitigate risk. You will support BAU risk activities as well as many of the change projects in store for the near future. In the business resilience capacity, you will help mature the business continuity framework as we prepare to comply with upcoming regulations in Asia and Europe. This role will also be leveraging data collected to help form a broader picture of risk exposure for the region. The role is a highly visible one that requires daily interaction with senior leadership in the region and throughout the organization, therefore maturity and discretion is important. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Risk Reporting
  • Take ownership of the production of the risk reporting framework for Asia-Pacific to ensure management has visibility and transparency on the key risks and risk trends affecting the region. This will involve risk reporting and analysis for senior management, boards and various risk related committees on:
    • Top and/or Emerging Risks
    • Key Risk Indicators
    • Risk Assessment and Risk Profiling Results
    • Operational Risk Events
    • New Products, Clients & Business Change
    • External/Horizon Risks
Operational Risk Event Management
  • Enhance incident metrics reporting and tracking for use in Board-level reporting and trend analysis to drive change within the organization
  • Uphold the standards and practices for incidents, issues and near misses, through KPI monitoring and engagement with stakeholders
  • Partner with other teams in the firm to augment the operational risk event data, to develop further insights into the operating environment
  • Partner with the Enterprise Risk team to advocate for continuous improvement to the global process and/or regional data and reporting needs
Identify, Assess and Monitoring of Business Risk
  • Support the risk assessment and risk profiling activity in Asia-Pacific, to ensure we have identified, assessed and are monitoring the key business risks that affect our legal entities, offices and functional processes in the region.
  • Partner with 1st line teams to assess activity related to new products/clients, strategic change, business change, new offices, new instruments and new markets.
Business Resilience Program Management - 6 APAC Offices
  • Maintain and oversee adherence of policies, procedures and associated plans for business continuity, based on industry-standard best practice and local regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate maintenance of business continuity plans for APAC offices. This requires the incumbent to review: business critical processes, roles and responsibilities, recovery activities, scenario planning and requirements, and ensure they adhere to local BC regulation and best practice
  • Manage testing program for APAC and the planning/logistics of each day (6 offices, annually)
  • Provide training to all staff involved in business resilience processes
  • Monitor external environment for evolving threat landscape
  • Manage BCP KPIs/risk indicators for APAC
  • Become an expert on eGRC system where BCP plans are maintained by the 1st line teams
Facilitate the APAC Risk Program
  • Support the APAC Risk framework and program by lending resource to projects and initiatives as required.
  • Maintain and keep updated the documentation of the risk management framework (policies & procedures) for the Asia-Pacific business.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • University degree in any discipline
  • 5-7 years relevant work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Maintaining documentation is a key element of the role
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Clear, concise, and articulate communication of complex and conceptual topics is required for success
  • Process-oriented and problem-solving attitude as well as strong organizational skills and hands-on mentality
  • Confidence in using/management of data and use of business intelligence and/or visualization tools
  • Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to work some of the week during US business hours (early am or evening)
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of key regulatory and supervisory frameworks in APAC
  • Strong project management/PMO, communication and influencing skills
  • Conceptual skills including qualitative and quantitative methods for risk management with an understanding of MAS Risk Management Guidelines and risk-control frameworks (e.g. COSO, ISO, COBIT)
  • Prior knowledge and understanding of current business continuity planning techniques and technologies as well as the methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses
  • Japanese and/or Mandarin language skills
