As a member of the European Regulatory & Government Affairs team, and reporting to the UK Head of Regulatory and Government Affairs, you will work on a very wide range of regulatory government and public policy issues in the UK and Ireland. In addition you will become a European-level subject matter expert in one or more specific areas of key importance for the business, leading those areas on behalf of the European team. You will ensure that the UK and Ireland business is fully compliant with all of the regulatory obligations, both existing requirements and new ones that may arise. You will also frequently interact with a range of external bodies, including regulators government bodies and trade associations to represent and advocate for Verizon’s interests and shape the optimum regulatory and policy environment for the business to grow. The role is based in London.
What we’re looking for... You are passionate and knowledgeable about regulation and policy trends in the digital and telecommunications sectors. You are curious, a quick learner and able to navigate complex problems to distil key implications and actions for a company like Verizon. We need someone that is proactive, likes to take the initiative and is able to juggle multiple projects, prioritise effectively and work efficiently under pressure. A “can-do” attitude is essential. Finally, you must be confident in communicating and presenting effectively both verbally and in writing across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, often to senior levels.
