The Impact You'll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Multi-Craft Mechanic will safely install, maintain, repair, move, replace, modify, troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on industrial and commercial equipment

As a Multi-Craft Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electronic equipment, including pneumatics/hydraulics
• Creating a culture of safety and compliance in the production environment through preventative maintenance and repairing critical equipment
• Supporting a culture of continuous improvement by implementing operator ideas

This position will require:

• Working overtime
• Weekend work
• Working holidays as needed
• Working a 12-hour night shift (on a "4 crew" schedule)

This position may require:

• Short notice shift coverage

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution
• Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in a private, public, government or military environment OR a technical degree or diploma in a maintenance field from an accredited institution
• Possess a current and valid driver's license

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing the following types of equipment in a manufacturing environment: motors, pumps, web handling systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drive systems and related components, valves, brakes, and clutches
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment to include PLC's, sensors, and operator interface stations
• Ability to perform basic machining, fabrication, welding, pipefitting, and millwright tasks

Travel: may include up to 5% domestic
