Location: Hyde Park Campus Job Description: - Maintain mouse colonies, genotype mice and conduct experiments in mice
- Use molecular biological techniques including: PCR, rtPCR, CRISPR editing, cloning, Northern and Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and DNA sequencing
- Culture and conduct experiments in mammalian cells
- Keep careful written and computerized records of all experiments using notebooks
- Provide logistical support for the smooth running of the lab (ordering, safety, organization)
- Orient and work with students and other laboratory members
- Reviewing and editing manuscripts and other documentsÂ
- Provides technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Collects and enters data. Assists in analyzing data. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
- Assists with the installation, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications Education: - Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology or related field.
Experience: - A minimum of one year of mouse work experience essential.Â
- Previous research experience pertaining to molecular cloning, next-gen sequencing, and PCR-based techniques are strongly preferred.
- Experience with computers that includes Microsoft Excel, statistics, and word processing strongly preferred. Â
