The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, dependable, highly ethical ready to provide competent and practical advice on a range of policing topics. Candidates who are open, approachable, and who can develop positive working relationships across teams is a plus. The ideal candidate has the ability to forge professional relationships and the skill to translate complex/technical information into understandable terms. Possession of a valid Police Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Basic Certificate is required, five (5) years of work experience as a sworn police officer, by March 31, 2021, and a valid California driver’s license. Bilingual proficiency is desired. Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; maintain P.O.S.T. physical standards, including mobility, physical strength, and stamina to respond to emergency situations and apprehend suspects; vision to maintain firearms qualification and to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone or radio. The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking on uneven terrain and climbing and descending structures to access crime scene and to identify problems or hazards.
