At the Edward J Miller Sr Blood Donor Center at Children's National, our Donor Center Associate II staff play a key role in providing the blood products for the patients we treat at our hospital and regional outpatient centers.
They perform physicals and obtain medical history and informed consents from prospective volunteer donors. They collect whole blood and apheresis products, perform record review and result entry into our LIS system, facilitate our autologous and directed donors, and assist donor recruitment.
They maintain documentation of all procedures to meet requirements of regulatory bodies and complete quality control checks on equipment. They also are responsible for efficient and cost effective use of supplies and reagents, and monitor supply inventories to assure adequate availability.
Experience in blood donation settings (preferred)
Related and progressive experience (required - minimum 3 years)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are key along with basic math and computer skills.
