| Davidson College seeks a part-time associate general counsel to work in the Office of Legal Services. The Associate General Counsel will report to the Vice President/General Counsel and will provide counsel and legal advice to college departments at the direction of the Vice President/General Counsel. Job responsibilities: Responsibilities of the position include: - Provide legal counsel in broad and general areas of the law including contract development/negotiations, the development of policies and procedures, gift and gift use agreements, liability assessment, risk management, real estate and leasing, technology law, privacy law, employment, and student matters.
- Provide legal counsel in administrative and regulatory areas specific to educational institutions such as Title IX, FERPA, and the Clery Act.
- Stay informed about regulations and case law on legal matters affecting higher education and train employees on legal matters including changes in laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: - Doctor of jurisprudence and graduation from a law school accredited by the Association of American Law Schools.
- Member of the North Carolina Bar or admission to it within one year of hire.
- Minimum of three years of directly related professional or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience advising institutions of higher education or other non-profit entities.
This position may include work from home. This position is expected to average about 20 hours per week and will be eligible for some benefits, including vacation and sick leave accruals and college-paid retirement contributions after one full year of employment.
