Position Overview The Chief Workforce Development Officer (CWDO) will set the vision and oversee all Educational and Workforce Development activities under BioMADE. The incumbent will chair the Educational and Workforce Development committee and will regularly solicit feedback from BioMADE industrial members to ensure the Educational and Workforce Development priorities align well with industry needs.
Job Duties: 50% BioMADE Workforce Development Strategic Oversight Create and implement BioMADE education and workforce development strategy Drive initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and workforce development efforts Analyze effectiveness of workforce development strategies, making recommendations and changes to address areas of opportunity and improvement Monitor progress towards BioMADE goals in relation to workforce development Develop sustainment strategy for workforce development efforts Maintain awareness of relevant labor market trends, policies, legislation, and best practices in the field Chair Education and Workforce Development Committee
30% Engage with External Stakeholders Establish and maintain relationships with BioMADE industrial and academic members (including community colleges, workforce development programs, etc.) Solicit feedback from existing partners to ensure priorities align with industry needs Identify potential partnership opportunities and promote BioMADE Education and Workforce Development strategies and programs to establish new programs and relationships Represent BioMADE in the larger Manufacturing Innovation Institutes’ EWD community
20% Supervision Supervise Education and Workforce Development Project Manager Recognize and reward staff achievement
Required Qualifications: Advanced degree with 12 or more years of experience in education, workforce development, workforce planning, or related fields At least three years of supervisory experience Demonstrated understanding of education and workforce development market trends and legislation Excellent communication and customer service skills with proven ability to engage diverse audiences Proven ability to identify, establish, and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including government, academia, and industry partners Ability to travel to partner sites, as required
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working within workforce development in biomanufacturing or similar industry Experience with project management
