New York Cancer and Blood Specialists, a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a
Medical Research Director
to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. The Practice manages a freestanding outpatient 7-day per week Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research departments
In this role, you will:
Always maintain all aspects of patient care.
Collaborate with and assist Project Coordinators to appropriately manage trial protocols and ensure clinical and regulatory compliance.
Manage site qualification and initiation visits for clinical trial implementation.
Create, implement and oversee study-specific monitoring tools and documents while adhering to GCP and GDP guidelines.
Oversee individual protocol and department budget and invoicing.
Coordinate and supervise the research team including remote sites (25% travel).
Arrange and coordinate medical and study monitor visits.
Assure compliance to SOPs, local regulations and CFR, ICH and GCP guidelines.
Departmental supply monitoring and ordering
Conduct trial feasibility and patient screening for enrollment as necessary.
Implement and manage department specific software products as necessary.
Files study related documents.
Travel to all research site offices as necessary.
Other tasks as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree. Master’s is preferred.
3+ years’ work experience in pharmaceutical, clinical office or research space.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and abilities:
Excellent communication skills
Ability to understand complex clinical trials protocols and document requirements.
Ability to function as an effective team leader.
Strong understanding of business management, financial, and leadership principles.
Microsoft office product knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
