Pharmacy Technician II- Infusion Center-PRN

• Compounds sterile medications following department policies and USP Chapters 797 and 800.
• Prepares chemotherapeutic and other hazardous CSPs
• Compounds large-volume intravenous admixtures as applicable
• Compounds medications being used in clinical investigations
• Restocks and delivers drugs and related supplies to clinics within the building including automated dispensing machines per department policy.
• Monitors stock levels and makes proper corrections in coordination with the supply chain personnel.
• Assists with inventory management and control, including auditing and record keeping.
• Fills and delivers controlled substances in strict accordance with departmental policies.
• Completes proper documentation in C-2 safe.
• Assists in the inventory management of controlled drugs.
• Assists in resolving inventory discrepancies under the supervision of the vault custodian.
• Assists in the oversight of daily pharmacy technician operations.
• Inspects assigned areas for expired medications and compliance with policies and organizational and regulatory standards.
• Supports the maintenance and training for Pyxis and other pharmacy specific technology.
• Assists in the oversight of the restocking and delivery of drugs and related supplies to patient care clinics including automated dispensing machines
• Assures that various required practices are performed and documentation is maintained
• Assists and creates a pharmacy technician schedule.
• Assists with Coordinating and planning of training activities of current and new staff.
• Assists with the evaluation of pharmacy technicians' performance and provides input regarding annual performance evaluation of technicians.
• Works cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
• Participates in process improvement and LEAN projects for the department.
• Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality improvement, and environmental and infection control standards.
• Adheres to and enforces (when applicable) all regulatory requirements
• Maintains secure storage and records of medications
• Performs and documents assigned monthly unit inspections and shares result with applicable unit leaders
• Coordinates insurance billing including third party prescription processing when applicable.
• Handles and triages telephone and pharmacy window requests and inquiries.
• Assists with charging and crediting medication returns.
• Other duties as assigned.
