Hospital Compliance Manager

Job Summary Under minimal supervision the Compliance Manager is responsible for communicating, driving and proactively monitoring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, policy directives and ethical requirements for the Denver Health Medical Plan (DHMP) and Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DHHA). Exercise overall responsibility and authority for developing, implementing, and managing the compliance, and internal audit programs for DHHA and DHMP. This position works with operations leaders, clinical staff, external government agencies and parties and legal counsel when appropriate.
Specialized focus on Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DHHA), Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and all other healthcare provider services. Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the enterprise conflicts of interest policy implementation and annual questionnaire and follow-up process. Support the response to external audits and activities for DHHA and its healthcare services. Actively support the Director of Compliance and Internal Audit to include the ability to function as a substitute at business partner meetings and to provide guidance on complex issues. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education 1. Bachelor's degree required. Experience 1. Five years' experience in hospital and/or health plan compliance, law/regulations required. 2. Significant experience in the hospital and health insurance industry, with specific ethics/compliance program experience or legal experience in a hospital and/or health plan setting preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work well both independently and with others in a matrix environment. 2. Strong project management skills and experience. 3. Strong acumen and understanding of healthcare, healthcare regulations, laws and governmental compliance program guidance. 4. Ability to perform detailed research and online searches of laws, regulations, industry best practices, and governmental guidance that might affect the organization's compliance practices, and translate regulatory requirements into terms readily understood by audiences at various levels of the organization and external clients. 5. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from employees, regulatory agencies, and others, as necessary. 6. Excellent data analysis and communication skills (verbal and written). Computers and Technology 1. Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite. 2. Experience with Epic, QNXT, and Lawson preferred. Certificates, Licenses and Registration 1. Certified Compliance professional (CHC or CCEP) or other nationally recognized certification preferred.
