Production Technician - 2002912 - East Setauket, NY
This position supports the Production Department by performing the cleaning, pre-weigh and compounding functions, in accordance with written and verbal procedures. Responsible for maintaining the integrity and cleanliness of the work area with respect to department standards, policies and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's) while providing support to all Production areas as needed including mechanical/facility support functions.
This position will involve frequent interaction with all department personnel (including more experienced technicians, coordinator, supervisor, team leaders and administrators) for decision making, and receiving of assignments. Open communication and relationships with all other departments is essential to performing this job function. Occasional contact with customers is possible. Professional business interactions are mandatory. This position will involve training from higher level Technicians, as well as assisting to train lower level technicians. This position reports to the Production Supervisor, with functional reporting to the Team Leaders.
Principal responsibilities include:
Perform cleaning of process equipment.
Perform assembly and disassembly of production equipment.
Perform cleaning of production areas.
Remove and compact production refuse.
Clean and sanitize product containers.
Perform compounding activities, under supervision, in accordance with cGMPs and Manufacturing Instructions.
Perform Pre-weigh activities.
Perform Calibration activities.
Support production department as required and assigned.
Support inventory and cycle count
Perform SAP transactions
Physical Requirements of the Job:
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and be fully mobile with the ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. The employee will be required to wear safety glasses, shoes, gowning and respirator as required while also using ladders and stairs.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You...
High School Diploma or GED required
1 year of experience of basic computer skills, such as, familiarity with Microsoft Office Systems required
Production or manufacturing experience preferred
Mechanical knowledge is preferred
SAP experience is preferred
