Heroes MAKE America (HMA) is the Manufacturing Institute’s initiative to build connections between the military community and manufacturing industry Our signature program provides transitioning service members, veterans, National Guard, reservists and military spouses with the skills and certifications to find and excel in manufacturing careers. The MI is committed to building and expanding the Heroes MAKE America military training program so we can assist our nation’s service members in their transition to civilian life and fill open manufacturing jobs. We are looking for a dynamic, solutions oriented individual to join our dedicated team and assist with administrative support for recruiting, day to day operations, and maintenance of the Heroes program. This position will play an integral part on the team, working side-by-side with us to fulfill our mission to support the military community in building their next career pathway.
Day-to-day activities include team support, general administrative duties, supplemental recruitment, data collection and other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Manager or the Vice President, Military and Veteran Programs. A successful candidate for this position will be an enthusiastic individual who excels at multi-tasking, enjoys implementing and completing a process and exudes passion for this mission.
Support data gathering and tracking across all sites and program elements.
Assist with the follow-up of program prospects via various social media and video conferencing platforms, email, phone and text.
Support Senior Program Manager with enrollment, funding, and installation level paperwork for participants.
At the direction of the Senior Program Manager, provide support for resume review and distribution process.
Assist Senior Program Manager with the monitoring of the Heroes MAKE America student interview process and placement with industry and program partners
Attend plant tours, as needed, to include facilitating required transportation and possibly driving for tours more than 70 miles from the installation.
Monitor social media for alumni status, manufacturer news and program updates.
Coordinate outreach to alumni to confirm placement updates in support of retention efforts.
Prepare weekly recruiting reports for Senior Program Manager and Vice President, Military and Veterans Programs.
Other duties as assigned.
3-5 years proven administrative support or comparable experience
Experience working with/on military installations
Excellent time-management and organization skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with bookkeeping and budget/expense reporting preferred
Experience working on social media platforms
Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office and Salesforce
Experience with and comfortable in meeting deadlines in a remote work environment
Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams
Telecommuting is allowed.
