The Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy is looking for an individual to manage the Center’s work in real-world evidence (RWE) and real-world data (RWD). The incumbent will be responsible for developing, managing, and directing a portfolio of projects related to improving the use of RWE and RWD within the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s regulatory framework, as well as more systematic uses of RWE and RWD to support biomedical innovation and value-based payment and care. The incumbent will interact regularly with external project sponsors and collaborators, including government agencies, academic centers, advocacy organizations, medical product manufacturers, and health care organizations. The incumbent will collaborate with Duke-Margolis leadership and manage the day-to-day implementation of multiple projects to ensure the successful execution of project objectives and the Center’s strategic goals. Duke-Margolis has two positions open (see here and here), intending to fill one depending on the identified candidate’s experience. Candidates must have experience and demonstrated knowledge of real-world data (RWD) and RWE development, drug and/or device development and policy, and/or drug coverage and reimbursement approaches.

Minimum educational requirements for Managing Associate are advanced degree (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, JD) and at least three years of relevant work experience, or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., health outcomes research, health economics, data science, population health, epidemiology, health policy, public health), and at least six years of relevant work experience. Minimum educational requirements for Research Director are 5 and 10 years respectively.
