We are seeking a professional like you to serve as a Senior Scientist in Mass Spectrometry, providing you working knowledge and hands-on experience on high-end analytic techniques such as MALDI-MS imaging and Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry at BASF Corporation Analytics North America labs at Tarrytown, New York.

Experience in an ISO environment is also highly desirable. Formula for Success
Leveraging your PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related scientific field and your extensive training and hands-on experience on high-end analytic techniques such as MALDI-MS imaging and / or Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry for structure elucidation, characterization and quantitative analysis of chemicals and polymers (experience on other mass spectrometry technical areas, such as High Resolution HPLC/MS, GC/MS or DART/MS is a plus), you will effectively lead BASF Key Technology Competency (KTC) analytical projects in the MALDI-MS imaging and Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry technical areas to Provide Analytical Solutions to Various Business Units within BASF for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Demonstrating your ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teams with effective written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills, you will work closely with BASF global analytical colleagues and Business Unit personnel as a Project Leader to develop and promote Key Technology Competency analytical areas in the MALDI-MS imaging and Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry to support BASF global R&D and business needs.
Your experience conducting laboratory operations under industry-standard safety guidelines will be critical as you will be responsible for operation and maintenance of MALDI-MS imaging mass spectrometry, ion mobility mass spectrometry instruments.
Your excellent project management skills and capability of managing multiple projects with various priorities and deliver results in a timely fashion will be essential as you provide project leadership to determine appropriate methodologies to identify and/or quantify chemical compositions for a wide range of project areas including new product development, competitive analyses, trace analysis for production and product support, customer technical service and global regulatory compliance submissions.
