The University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and Kite are proud to offer a 12-month Scientific Communications Fellowship Program. This program is designed to provide recent Pharm.D., MD, Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree graduates an opportunity to learn the skills and experiences necessary to excel in Scientific Communications, a key function in any Medical Affairs organization across the pharmaceutical industry. The fellowship is based at the Kite headquarters in Santa Monica, California. The overall goal is to provide an opportunity for the fellow to learn the skills necessary for a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis in Scientific Communications.
Subject Matter Expertise
The fellow will participate in cell therapy training, with the goal of becoming a subject matter expert. The fellow will be able to attend scientific meetings to maintain that expertise, participate in session coverage, and staff the Medical Affairs booth.
Scientific Communications Content
The fellow will be involved in the creation of high-impact scientific and medical tools for the medical science field teams, medical affairs scientific presentations, scientific booth materials at key congresses, and content at scientific advisory boards.
The fellow will work with the Kite Scientific Communications team to work on projects regarding process improvement/development and potential implementation of new technology.
The fellow will collaborate with other departments at Kite to learn about the value that Kite Scientific Communications brings to the broader organization.
The fellow will learn and comply with regulations and guidance from the various national and global regulatory agencies that govern the pharmaceutical industry.
Rotations with External-Departments
Participate in rotations with external departments across the Kite organization including Regulatory Affairs (Advertising and Promotion), Field-based Medical Affairs, Marketing, Medical Communications, etc. to gain a comprehensive experience and skill set in the pharmaceutical industry.
USC Graduate Coursework
Complete required graduate coursework at the University of Southern California with the opportunity to complete a Certificate in Regulatory Sciences.
Leadership, Teaching and Career Development
Participate in the University of Southern California, School of Pharmacy Professional Development and Leadership Retreat.
Fellows in our program further their experience through the academic component at the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy, one of the nation's leading schools of pharmacy. Fellows have the opportunity to take graduate courses in the Regulatory Sciences program, lecture in the School of Pharmacy, and have access to the strong network of USC alumni.
How to Request an Interview:
Interview appointments will be scheduled on a rolling basis and must be submitted by December 2, 2020.
Interviews are limited and will be offered on a competitive basis. Final interviews will be conducted at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear Clinical Meeting, which will take place virtually December 6-10.

Applicants must have obtained a PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy within 5 years of initial appointment, and a minimum doctoral program GPA of 3.0. Selected candidates will be invited to schedule an interview via Zoom by email.
