You Will Be Responsible For:
Preparing time-sensitive policy documents such as legislative scans, environmental scans, advocacy letters, issue documents and fact sheets.
Conduct legislative analysis of federal and state policy proposals, clearly synthesizing and interpreting the material.
Develop and/or contribute to writing projects, such as whitepapers, briefing papers, talking points, and reports as assigned.
Proactively track, monitor and analyze regulatory, legislative and other policy issues informing the Manager and Director of important developments and changes.
Monitor the Federal Register to identify opportunities for comment and track regulatory activity.
As requested, communicate the status and progress of policy issues to the Public Policy Team, Manager and Director.
Consistently demonstrate initiative as well as problem-solving and leadership skills
What You Will Need:
Bachelorâ™s degree required. Political science or related degree is preferred.
Two-four years of work experience required, preferably in a related field. Experience in government relations, public policy and health care setting is preferred.
Ability to understand and articulate public policy issues.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with elected officials, their staff and AHS staff/leadership in a professional manner.
This position is responsible for supporting and implementing Public Policy efforts for AdventHealth. This role helps provide critical support to AdventHealth policy initiatives related to federal and state health care issues. This includes drafting comments to federal agencies, developing legislative summaries, conducting environmental scans of legislative and regulatory activity, as well as researching health care policy issues. Additionally, this role assists in the development and implementation of activities in support of AdventHealth advocacy efforts. This role understands and articulates key public policy issues. Displays professionalism, strong initiative, willingness and ability to solve challenges. Excellent analytical skills and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
