Individuals selected for this role will be employed by Kelly Services as contingent/temporary workers. These individuals will be required to successfully complete drug/medical and background screenings before they are placed on assignment by Kelly Services. This is not a full-time role with BASF.
This position is an important part of the manufacturing team, as our Utility Operators perform a variety of tasks that allow manufacturing lines to operate at full capacity. Tasks include manually loading parts onto the manufacturing line, operating a machine to load the line, assisting the machine operator during changeovers and performing housekeeping activities to keep the work area safe and clean. The Utility Operator may perform all tasks in each shift or have their work efforts focused on any combination of tasks.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn during these work tasks and includes gloves, safety glasses, protective dust suits, hats/visors and hearing protection. This work is performed in an active manufacturing environment and the Utility Operator must be accustomed to working in an environment with equipment traffic and machine movement. This role will require frequent and long periods of standing, walking and lifting, as well as the ability to grip tools and materials while moving hands/arms in a variety of motions.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
* Read and understand documents, for example - operating and safety procedures
* Perform basic mathematical computations
* Understand and carefully follow verbal directions
* Ability to operate equipment and use a computer
* Ability to work rotating shifts
* History of great attendance and punctuality for scheduled work shifts
* Ability to work overtime as needed
* Previous work experience in a manufacturing facility
* High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
