The Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is currently seeking candidates for a research faculty position in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition.
As a member of a research laboratory, the candidate will focus on understanding brain control of adipose tissue and liver, and how nutrients and hormones impact this regulatory pathway and in turn may alter innate immunity; and ably advance research on the role of the autonomic nervous system and novel methods to monitor catecholaminergic signaling. Additionally, the candidate will be the team leader performing rodent metabolic phenotyping studies.
The candidate will be expected to (i) teach and support MD and PhD trainees rotating through the laboratory, as well as new technicians and scientists, (ii) write an average of two papers per year in high impact journals, and (iii) apply for extramural funding and/or assist in the preparation of grant applications.
Minimum Education and Experience:
PhD or MD/PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology
