Job Purpose: Responsibility for the daily operations of a commercial laundry facility; this includes the processing and delivery of healthcare, food and beverage and hospitality linens.
Training: Meet with team leaders daily to review performance and training of employees in each department. Oversee employee training for all production departments. Provide feedback to all employees on performance, improvement and career development. Perform formal reviews of each employee annually. Develop action plans and Personal Development Plans (PDP) for current supervisory team to ensure growth and success.
Employee/Production Scheduling: Have full floor staff in place each day and have an organized system for daily replacements as needed (sick days, vacations, emergencies). Schedule and manage employee time-off/vacation requests in coordination with Human Resources. Monitor daily time clock punches and edit system accordingly.
Quality Control: Daily visual inspection of products to ensure high quality.
Performance & Reporting: Achieve production standards in terms of pounds per operator hour (PPOH) based on clean weight totals of products weighed daily and averaged weekly. Minimize order shortages through efficient production.
Daily Floor Improvement Walks: Make sure facility and all workstations are clean, organized and fully stocked with any necessary supplies for the day. In coordination with Maintenance Department, ensure plant remains clean and organized.
Assist the COO with the management of plant operational expenses by ensuring the cost-effective operation of the plant, while maintaining a safe work environment for the staff.
Acts as a liaison with the Maintenance Manager to assure the safe operation and upkeep of all production equipment.
Assist Human Resources to ensure all personnel issues such as training, regulatory compliance, staffing, payroll and benefit administrations for the entire staff is scheduled and completed within policy requirements.
Participates in the plant safety committee and oversees the regulatory compliance for all required agencies; knowledge of HLAC, OSHA and JACHAO requirements.
Minimum of 3 years operations/management experience required
