EHS Specialist (2001923) - Lubbock, TX area
Where the Chemistry Happens...
As the primary EHS point of contact for 5 Lubbock sites (Breeding & Trait Development Station, Seeds Innovation Center, Fuzzy Seed Warehouse, US Cotton DC Warehouse and QC Lab), the EHS Specialist provides practical EHS guidance and direction to support site operations. This includes, but is not limited to, 1.) developing sustainable EHS programs that meet BASF Responsible Care (r) and legal requirements; 2.) assisting sites with EHS program implementation and continuous improvement; 3.) training 4.) EHS committee facilitation; 4.) observing work practices to identify safe and at- risk behaviors; 6.) performing site EHS assessments and inspections. The EHS Specialist, Lubbock area will need to have reliable personal transportation to get to all 5 sites; miles driven will be reimbursed via the BASF expense reporting system.
Formula for Success: You Will...
High School diploma; coursework in technical disciplines (STEM) preferred
BS+ degree desired
Professional certification (CSP, CIH, PE, CHMM) desired
5+ years providing EHS services in a manufacturing/lab environment
Experience with seed business (R&D, Supply chain, production, processing) desired
Experience providing EHS services to multiple sites desired
Strength in the following competencies: Driving Sustainable Solutions, Collaborate for Achievement, Communicate Effectively
Working knowledge of EHS regulations, technology, and practices
Capable of using electronic tools and databases to report EHS information
Incident Investigation and root cause analysis skills and knowledge
