Student Support Services SSS provides opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college requirements, and to motivate students toward the successful completion of their post secondary education. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants. The Program Coordinator will provide administrative, organizational, and technical support to the Student Support Services. This includes, but is not limited to, record keeping and data management, training and oversight to academic tutors, Peer Advisers, and support personnel. The Program Coordinator serves as a liaison to other campus academic support and tutoring services, plans program events, handles communication with participants, and coordinates educational presentations and workshops.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide administrative, organizational, and technical support to the Project to ensure effective program operation.
Provides training and oversight to academic tutors, Peer Advisers, and other support personnel.
Maintains records and manages data while supporting program assessment, evaluation, and reporting efforts.
Serves as a liaison to other campus academic and support services (e.g. SHU Tutoring Consortium) while determining ways to ensure SSS consistently meets the support needs of its students.
Provides support to the SSS enrollment process; interviews candidates and participates in the selection process.
Adhere to all internal, Federal Dept. of Ed, regulatory, and affiliate policies and procedures, integrity and ethical standards.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
Ability to provide technical support for programming initiatives. Experience coordinating student support programming and/or staff training initiatives.
Prior experience working in Student Support Services or other TRIO program, EOF, HEOP, or other opportunity program is desirable. Experience coordinating tutoring and other support services is highly desirable.
