We have an opening for a Full-time Dental Assistant Supervisor to work with our Employer Health Clinic located in Greer, SC! Summary: This full-time Dental Assistant Supervisor will work with our employer health clinic located in Greer. The schedule is Monday from 8:30am-7:15pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30am-5:15pm, but candidates should be flexible to come in early/stay late as needed to help support the dental team. Previous experience managing teams, ordering office supplies, and payroll is highly preferred. The Dental Supervisor will manager, supervisor and coordinate dental hygienist and dental assistant staff, and will also be responsible for providing direct patient care, using established dental expertise, as needed. Must be a CDA and have experience working with Dentrix and Dexis. Essential Functions: As a Dental Assistant: Provide chair side assistance to dental providers in the performance of dental procedures, to include operative, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, prosthetic, and all other dental procedures as needed Prepare, sterilize, organize, and set-up dental equipment to ensure that all dental sterilization guidelines are followed according to dental guidelines Monitor and maintain dental inventory, supplies and equipment i.e. compressor, evacuator system, sterilizers, and light curing units etc. in accordance with manufacture guidelines Take dental radiographs in accordance with provider orders; assist in the monitoring and maintenance of radiation safety procedures and protocols Develop and participate in all performance improvement activity relating to dental practice and ensure the dental component is compliant with all regulations and standards Provide excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs Perform patient management during dental procedures to include: instrument transfer, isolation, oral evacuation, retraction, and preparation of dental instruments and materials to include mixing filling and impression materials, charting examination and treatment results on patients’ dental records Maintain daily log-books on daily maintenance procedures Maintain dental laboratory slips creating dental records of incoming and outgoing dental cases. Maintain proper maintenance of dental charts and dental forms Provide patients with written and oral post-operative instructions for dental procedures Supervision responsibilities Collaborate with Site Dental Director to provide leadership to dental assistants Assist in the recruitment and selection of dental assistants, including interviewing candidates and training new team members Assess, manage, and evaluate the performance and development of dental assistants Participate in appropriate client and Premise Health committees as requested Provide direction to ensure environment is clean and safe, that infection control procedures are followed, and patient privacy is upheld Participate in Quality Improvement, Risk Management activities and complete Premise Health occurrence reports as needed. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education: Documentation of state/national license/registration (ie: Dental Assisting National Board – Certified Dental Assistant - DANB CDA) to include copy of actual license, verification of license, or email including license number as applicable Copy of Radiation Safety/X-ray Certificate or equivalent if not DANB CDA as required by state dental board CPR (BLS for community/lay responder or Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer- the copy must include the front and back of card). Certification must include “hands on” evaluation of skills by the trainer/instructor. Total on-line courses will not be accepted. Course must also meet the American Heart Association (AHA) standards but need not be an AHA certificate. Experience: At least 5-10 years' experience as Licensed Dental Assistant preferred. 1 – 2 years of demonstrated supervisory experience. Previous experience with Dental EMR and digital imaging preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of dental equipment and techniques. Knowledge of the principles of practices and techniques of dental hygiene. Knowledge of current regulations on practices for prevention of transmission of infectious diseases. Strong computer skills (Internet software, spreadsheet, word processing etc.) preferred. Ability to work collaboratively as part of the dental and management team.
