Vice Provost of Manufacturing & Industrial Technologies
Serving under the Provost, the Vice Provosts will lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of credit hour programs offered at various colleges within the system. These leaders will serve as advocates for all programs offered in their respective areas to meet with the needs of students, faculty, instructors, local business, and industry partners. These individuals will advise the Provost on matters pertaining to professional and technical education, and actively engage with community and employer partners for the purpose of creating new partnerships, responsive programs, and revenue opportunities.
Oversee faculty and academic managers, with direct responsibility for academic excellence initiatives: curriculum, SLO/Assessment, tutoring, and supplemental academic support, instruction and faculty professional development
Develop and maintain student pathways and degree maps, ensuring students have the ability to take the courses and programs they need to reach economic security and success
Oversee each school-specific program and faculty, admin, or staff member across geographic location, ensuring consistency of offerings to create a seamless student experience
Work with Workforce & Advancement team to ensure student opportunities with community and workforce partners during their time in the program and after completion
Coordinate with Academic Services team to provide academic support for students through access to tailored resources (e.g., library, tutoring)
Ensure the excellence of curriculum and offerings through benchmarking and assessment of school and community needs
Performs other duties as assigned or delegated by the Provost
Experience in progressively responsible teaching, administrative and educational leadership and/or creative accomplishments that exhibit a commitment to academic excellence
Demonstrated successful experience in strategic planning, fiscal management, resource allocation, assessment of program(s) effectiveness, and development of guidelines to enhance academic units within the institution and with accrediting bodies
Experience in personnel supervision in a higher education environment (graduate or undergraduate programs)
Demonstrated distinguished record of teaching
Current and valid Texas driver’s license required
Knowledge of curriculum design and its application to sound academic management and methods for the evaluation of faculty and academic staff
Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to respond appropriately to issues in a dynamic rapidly changing educational/economic environment
Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of diversity
An understanding of emerging technologies and the effective application of instructional technologies to enhance student learning
An understanding of contemporary issues in higher education is required through professional development activities
Ability to work collaboratively across the institution to align course offerings and scheduling in order to promote greater student success and increased effectiveness and efficiencies
