TheCharge Respiratory Therapistprovides direction, serves as a resource and acts as a role model for staff toensure comprehensive and safe patient care.The Charge Therapist serves as a liaison and promotes teamwork withinthe department.The Charge Therapistassists the Director in establishing unit specific goals, determining workprocedures and expediting work flow; ensuring compliance with policies and proceduresand regulatory compliances; following staffing matrix/productivity standards,assisting with evaluations and chart audits and performing any duties asassigned.
The ChargeTherapist assists the staff in patient care assessment, planning interventionsand being involved in problem solving.The Charge Therapist performs delegated duties consistent with his/herscope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of caredelivery.The Charge Therapist is also aRT who demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care forhis/her patients based on criteria that is age appropriate and is based on thephysical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individualpatient.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:Licensed to practice as an RT in the State ofColorado. RRT credential from NBRC. Current Basic Life Supportupon hire (BLS) and any unit specific certification:Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months(ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Practitioner (NRP) all within 1 yearof hire.
a.Education:Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. RegisteredRespiratory Therapist required.BSNpreferred.Activity in professionalorganizations encouraged.
b.Experience:Minimum two years of experience as an RT.Previous experience in charge/supervisoryposition desirable.Education,experience or certification specific to clinical area recommended.
c.Special Qualifications:Continuing demonstration of clinical and leadership competency.Commitment and understanding of staffing matrix/productivity standard.Committed to the goals of the unit, patientsafety initiatives and positive patient experience.
d.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Demonstrates good organizationalskills.Provides safe and appropriatepatient care within the standards of nursing practice.Displays judgment and superior problemsolving skills.Communicates positivelyand professionally with all internal and external customers.
