The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. Data Management Solutions The Data Management Solutions (DMS) organization within DMI provides holistic and consistent data management capabilities to Wells Fargo. This includes domain management, data quality monitoring, metadata management, data lake management, and master/reference data management.
The Position Data Quality Implementation team within DMS is responsible for developing and deploying data quality monitoring practices, in alignment with the Enterprise Data Strategy, leveraging industry-wide standards and internal company policies to enable sound decision making by improving data quality through consistent measurement and monitoring across strategic applications.
The Head of Data Quality Implementation will be a key leader within the DMS organization and be responsible for leading a team of FTEs, contractors and consultants to bring to life the Enterprise Data Quality Monitoring strategy in alignment with Wells Fargo's Data Management Policy and industry best practices.
This leader will play a pivotal role in defining the approach and action plans to transform data quality implementation from the current state to the future state vision. The leader will be responsible for driving the design and execution of data quality processes, with a focus on transformation along people, process and technology pillars.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Leverage Data Management expertise to drive implementation of data quality requirements across the target state data environment in joint ownership and partnership with other DMI teams.
Lead the design and maintenance of data quality processes and templates, and ensure consistent adherence to these processes and templates.
Ensure compliance with Data Management policy requirements for data quality.
Drive solid program management around DQ with transparent status tracking, and reporting to key stakeholders.
Drive planning and implementation of approaches to ensure operational excellence and process efficiency and achievement of Board Level Milestones assigned to the DQ team.
Define metrics to track and measure the progress of DQ implementation, and to measure and demonstrate business value from data quality.
Accountable for addressing internal (e.g., WFAS) and external feedback received via assessment activities specific to the DMSs pillars / functions.
Provide thought leadership in required governance routines (e.g., committees, regulator agency check-ins, etc.).
Drive the design and deployment of target state DQ capabilities in partnership with Enterprise IT. Evaluates established and emerging data and analytics technologies to make and/or influence buy/build solution decisions. Provide guidance on implementation of innovative technology solutions that deliver foundational data and analytics capabilities to further integrate data quality services.
Shepard the technology organization in the implementation of key tools and applications to enable execution efficiencies in data quality.
Represents DQ team in partner work efforts, providing data management experience, including an understanding of concepts, practices, procedures, and tools – providing strong analytical, innovative and creative problem solving skills.
Partner across related data management functions to ensure efficient operating models, reuse, and clear/consistent partner engagement.
Ensure talent development of management leveraging both internal resources and industry best practices. Drive programs to deepen expertise of talent across the team.
Exercises the usual authority of a manager and is responsible for the management of individuals and matrixed teams focused on data quality activities.
