You Will Be Responsible For:
Assesses the nutritional status of adult and/or geriatric patient through documentation in the medical record. Uses parameters such as anthropometric measurements, visual assessment and interpretation of laboratory values.
Develops and revises a nutrition care plan based on information from the patient, medical record, family and health care team members.
Completes all required documentation, reports and logs in a timely, professional and thorough manner.
Communicates effectively with all team members, patients and families through conferences, individual consultation and committee participation. This includes telephone, written, and electronic communication.
Visits patients on an assigned nursing unit or area and helps ensure that every patient is visited by a member of the management or professional team at least once during their hospital stay.
What You Will Need:
Bachelors or advanced degree from an accredited institution with major in Food and Nutrition or Clinical Dietetics
Successful completion of dietetic internship within a CUP program, internship, or Master's degree program
Registered, or in the process of being registered within six months of hire date, by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
Licensed, or in the process of being licensed within six months of hire date, by the State of Florida
Responsible for providing clinical nutrition services, including nutrition assessment, modified diet formulation, self-management training and nutrition intervention to patients/residents. Ensures patient satisfaction, quality care, regulatory agency compliance, and good public relations are achieved through the safe and efficient use of resources.
