Reporting to the Head of Monitoring, this role will be responsible for undertaking or completing reviews and monitoring tasks following the Compliance Monitoring Plan set out for the Firm each year.
Key Job Functions
The Compliance Monitoring Officer will be responsible for completing allocated monitoring activities under the CM Ltd Compliance Monitoring Plan ("CMP"). Such tests will include Surveillance Monitoring, CMP Periodic Tests, as well as assisting with Thematic Reviews and Desk reviews. This may include communications and transactions surveillance.
The CMP is a critical part of the Compliance Oversight framework and is the responsibility of the whole department to complete effectively in order to mitigate Conduct and Compliance Risk. The Compliance Monitoring Officer is expected to contribute actively towards the completion, improvement and development of the CMP through their role, as well as ensuring issues are properly escalated and remedied under the direction of the Head of Monitoring.
Responsibility and Authority
Main activities for the role include:
Undertake, in a timely manner, assigned routine Compliance Monitoring Plan tests, routine Surveillance Monitoring Plan activities and assist in Desk or Thematic Reviews;
Assist in the development of monitoring tests including elements of test design, documentation and associated quality assurance;
Prepare, as required, concise reports to explain findings from reviews and present and explain issues clearly to management;
Escalate any issues arising from monitoring and testing, undertake root cause analysis and identify remedial action under the direction of the Head of Monitoring & Testing;
Assist in issue follow up for action plans within deadlines and documenting the follow up results;
Work collaboratively on tasks with other members of the Monitoring & Surveillance team and the broader Compliance team, where applicable;
Perform, as assigned, the Compliance departmental self-inspection a required by the Firm's Conduct Risk Programme including MI;
Assist with the preparation of and assist employees with internal and external regulatory investigations, examinations and audits as relevant to the role;
Provide Compliance input into relevant technology solutions across aspects of Compliance function;
Assist in the preparation of MI for Compliance management;
Attend all Compliance meetings as required and complete mandatory training on a timely basis;
