We are seeking a Radiopharmacist. This position is located in the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center's (CC) Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Department. The PET facility at the NIH is one of the largest in the country and is in the forefront of research in this field. PET scans performed in the department are used to conduct clinical research in humans with regard to normal organ physiology, the pathophysiology of disease, and the effects of treatment.
This position is responsible for dispensing and quality control testing of PET radiopharmaceuticals for use in clinical research protocols and patient care, under regulations and safety and compliance standards including but not limited to Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for radioactive compounds (21 CFR part 212), Radiopharmaceuticals for PET—Compounding, Investigational, and Research Uses (USP 823), and Radiopharmaceuticals-Preparation, Compounding, Dispensing and Repackaging(USP 825), and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations.
The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice pharmacy in a state or territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. The ideal candidate will have extensive professional knowledge of a wide range of nuclear pharmacy concepts, principles, and practices, and have the ability to develop and prepare procedures for new radiopharmaceuticals.
