Research Pharmacy Technicians are a key player in our clinical research enterprise. Research Pharmacy is responsible for pharmaceutical management of investigational drugs for oncology trials. Responsible for providing technical support under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Level II Research Pharmacy Technician's duties include:
Receiving investigational products into inventory
Preparation of investigational products for dispensing, including sterile compounding
Inventory tracking and maintenance including drug expiration updates
Tracking and processing drug returns and replacements
Utilizing various equipment and technology available in pharmacy
Managing and maintaining study documentations and investigational product accountability
Assisting in various quality control tasks to ensure compliance to institutional, state and federal regulatory policies
Participating in the training and orientation of new technicians and pharmacy students
Other duties as assigned
High school graduate or currently enrolled in an accredited entry-level degree program for pharmacy or related field
Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registration as Pharmacy Intern or Pharmacy Technician
National Pharmacy Technician Certification required with the exception of pharmacy students
Two to five years pharmacy technician experience, with one year of IV admixture and/or one year of oncology experience and/or one year retail pharmacy experience
We may consider less experience for a Level 1 Pharm Tech. National Certification required within 1 year of start date.
