Where the Chemistry Happens.....
As Director for CCB (Battery Materials) North America (NA), you will act as CEO of the joint venture of BASF TODA America (BTA), as well as direct the entire P&L for the business across multiple strategic business segments (e.g., BTA, CCB regional functions, operations of Cathode Active Materials in Elyria, and operations in Troy).
As Director, you will have total responsibility for the business and accountability for providing leadership to all aspects including business development, commercial, and technical activities. In addition, you will manage overall P&L, financial, business, and operational results of the businesses of the JV and the NA region. Your priorities are providing strategic leadership to the business to ensure profitable growth including development into new markets while enhancing returns. You will leverage your P&L experience and bring a diverse background including both commercial and operational aspects. Due to the requirements of the business, a greater emphasis will be sought on the commercial aspects.
As Director, you will establish and manage the strategic development and commercialization of our technologies and new business development opportunities & technologies within the nickel metal hydride battery marketplace. You will also assume overall responsibility and accountability for sustaining existing business and for generating new opportunities to include market identification, competitive intelligence, product positioning, value propositions and intellectual property management.
You will bring a strong background in chemicals, preferably acquired at least in part at a B2B chemical manufacturer. Experiences and relationships in battery materials industry is a plus. You will display substantial business experience and strategic capabilities. Specifically, you will be able to hit the ground running and quickly establish a vision for the business, communicate this clearly and effectively across the organization and drive results against defined financial metrics.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success...Leveraging your educational background in Science/Engineering or Business Administration, and capitalizing on your achievements in business development, you will drive the strategic development and tactical implementation of the business strategy, including overall P&L management for CCB North America and BTA and....
Lead a team of cross-functional professionals, directing team members, ensuring key milestones and objectives are met by creating and fostering a high-performance team and work environment through appropriate career growth and development opportunities
Identify new business opportunities and enhance existing customer relationships, market share, and profitability
Leverage your familiarity of and experience with startup/joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and established traditional organizations as you ensure cooperation and coordination between research & development, product development & marketing, engineering, manufacturing, joint venture partners, supply chain partners, and other cross-functional team members
Conduct the appropriate collection, analysis and interpretation of data and information as it relates to competitive analysis, market intelligence, trends and benchmarking activities
Develop, validate, recommend and implement business proposals for growth opportunities via capital investments, M&A, JV and/or strategic alliances
Engage across the business and with external stakeholders and partner with appropriate internal business leadership teams and external technology stakeholders regarding new business opportunities and driving them to successful commercialization
Impart your proven ability to conduct, understand, and interpret significant economic, financial, and feasibility studies which will prove critical as you ensure sales forecasting/ analysis/ pricing/other business terms and key account management while promoting BASF products, technology, innovation, and goodwill
Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers as well as key external stakeholders and strategic partners and represent BTA in the U.S. to administrations, partners, service providers, customers and suppliers, and auditors as the CEO of BTA
