Job Summary: The Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs and Utilization Management will serve on the senior leadership team and be the physician lead for Medical Staff Affairs, Utilization Management (UM), Coding, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), Health Information Management, and Research & Sponsored Programs. The VPMA will promote physician engagement, serve as liaison between Harris Health and medical school partners, oversee credentialing and peer review process, provide strategic and operational input on system utilization management and promote compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition, the VPMA will serve as the physician lead for the transport center and the Harris Health research program. This position will report directly to the Executive Vice President /Chief Medical Officer of Harris Health System.
Physician-Medical Doctor with a Current Texas Medical license (Or) Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with a current Texas medical license (And) Master's Degree
Drug Enforcement Administration and DPS
Work Experience: Six (6) Years Work Experience clinical, with three of those years being prior experience in - leadership as a medical director or other physician executive role
Management Experience: Three (3) Years of Management Experience Preferred
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact); Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking); Writing/Correspondence
Proficiencies: MS Access MS Excel MS Word Personal Computer
