Job Description This role is responsible for developing the organizational design for the team and the build out of internal processes, working together with MRA affiliates, as well as with other functional capabilities along the different product value streams, such as Product Strategy, Methods & Standards, Analytical Design, Market Access and Sales teams as well as with Data Architecture and IT. Strong collaboration with these teams is essential to successfully deliver on the operating model. The MD-Data Operations & R&R, ESG is a highly visible internal role, therefore the successful individual must be able to be decisive, strategic, innovative and garner extensive credibility. Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing and implementing the future state organizational design of Data Operations & R&R in conjunction with MRA affiliates and other value stream teams which are either 'suppliers' or 'customers' of this team. Develops a strong service culture to meet both internal and external customers' expectations.
Establishes leadership & oversight of the team's execution of their objectives, including:
Capturing/ ingestion, enrichment and structuring of various ESG-related raw data.
Aggregation of such ingested data via automated/ semi-automated processes or via manual Subject Matter Experts;
Working with the Analytical Design team to continuously improve/ innovate these processes.
Production of expert opinions that flow into the data aggregation process, as well as thematic research pieces in the teams' area of ESG subject matter expertise.
Attracting, developing and retaining talent at manager, analyst and associate levels. Includes development of career paths, training programs, and effective recruiting and performance management processes.
Perform outreach & engagement with key stakeholders
Incorporate ACE (Advancing the Customer Experience) principles in interactions with market participants and issuers
Evaluating staffing levels in relation to business needs.
Manages team (which may include offshore reporting lines in various locations), and works with 'suppliers' and 'customers' in each product value stream, to continually find opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and speed of delivery.
Supports the execution of the MRA ESG- wide strategic objectives as part of the group's senior leadership team. Leads the execution of MRA strategic business objectives and provides general management and facilitation of business activities, such as: a) Intra-company communications, b) cross-functional coordination and interaction and c) coordination with budgeting and planning.
Works closely with Legal and Compliance teams to:
Create an environment where the team meets any applicable regulatory requirements
Works with Legal, Compliance to maintain clear separation from regulated activities performed in MIS
Ensure compliance by all personnel with local and global regulations
Lead regional governance to ensure an appropriate control environment is in place
Responsibility for the teams' T&E budget
15-20+ years of professional experience in management, data and ESG or credit analysis.
Strong analytical skills; experience managing a data capturing and aggregation as well as rating and research production unit highly desirable
Demonstrated ability to manage a functional team within a broader product value stream/workflow, with a visible service culture towards internal or external customers
Ability to develop individuals and teams, leverage people and delegate responsibilities
Ability to think both innovatively and process-oriented, strategically and execute strategies within a team and across the franchise
Ability to lead organizational change and inspire others in the pursuit of business objectives
Proactively establish strong social networks across the company in all regions.
