Position Summary: The Director of Quality is responsible for ongoing development and implementation of the quality management program for the Olathe Medical Center and Miami County Medical Center. The quality management program includes performance improvement, patient safety, accreditation and certification, patient experience, and quality reporting and data analysis. The position also supports and collaborates with the Olathe Health Physician's Director of Quality in furtherance of quality improvement for the system. The position provides leadership in defining, implementing, and integrating quality, safety, service and efficiency strategies into the plans, policies, and organizational processes that affect the organization's operations and strategic direction.
Position Requirements: Education: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree, Health care related field. Preferred -4 Year/Bachelors Degree, Clinical health care field such as nursing, rehabilitation services, or other. Preferred -Graduate Degree, Master's degree in health care or business or a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
Experience: More than 5 Years: Progressive management responsibilities in health care environment 3 - 5 Years: Previous quality management/performance improvement and/or accreditation leadership experience.
Knowledge, Skills: Management Experience-Diversity of clinical background is a strong plus to facilitate understanding of the varied needs of the clinical community. Microsoft Office-Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. Good working knowledge of regulatory and payer quality reporting requirements and how the electronic health record and related reporting tools support these requirements. Working knowledge of the Cerner Millennium platform is a plus.
Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize-This individual must have a willingness to learn quickly and understand the many different facets of the projects and how each impacts the organization as a whole. Analytical-Must be able to identify the priority needs of each piece of the project development and development appropriate plans for accomplishment. This position requires the compilation, analysis, and presentation of data from a variety of sources. Verbal Communication-This position requires a high level of communication and the ability to speak comfortably in diverse settings. Preferred-Experience utilizing evidence-based development tools. (i.e. Zynx)
License, Registration and/or Certification: Applicable Licensure and/or certification in the state of Kansas, if required by this person's healthcare profession. (i.e. RN, PT, etc)
