Korn Ferry has partnered with Southern Nevada Health District to assist with the recruitment of a new District Health Officer (DHO) for one of the largest public health districts in the United States. Reporting to the health district’s Board of Directors, the DHO will serve in the most senior leadership role in the organization to advance the health, environment, and well-being of the communities it serves. Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) serves more than 2.2 million residents, which accounts for 72% of Nevada’s total population. Additionally, the health district is charged with safeguarding the public health of more than 42 million visitors to Las Vegas each year. With support from over 600 dedicated employees, the health district operates a $79M budget and five divisions. Each division head is a direct report to the DHO – Administrative Services, Community Health Services, Environmental Health, Clinical Services, and the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). In the past decade, the role of SNHD has expanded to include oversight and participation in areas such as bioterrorism and disaster and emergency preparedness.
Candidates will be a physician executive leader or a healthcare executive with a graduate degree in public health, healthcare administration, public administration, business administration or related field. This individual will be at the forefront of efforts to advance prevention, reduce health disparities and promote wellness, and should have experience navigating the complexities of public health leadership and FQHCs.
