Summary of Key Responsibilities: The Manager provides leadership to the Radiation Oncology department, while overseeing the day-to-day business and clinical operations, including ongoing clinical competence and staff development. Key responsibilities include: 1.Ongoing assessment and support of the clinical programs for the radiation oncology center and assuring optimal quality care, safety and outcomes for patients and families. 2.Supporting an interdisciplinary team approach to the overall delivery of care to patients and family members and facilitates an environment of collaboration and excellence. 3.Collaboration with the Director and other hospital leaders to ensure operations are strategically aligned with mission, vision, and values of the Sarah Cannon/HCA organization. Duties and Responsibilities: •Develops an annual operational plan (including scope of service) that is integrated with the HCA/Sarah Cannon programmatic build, in collaboration with the center Director. •Develops, implements and periodically reviews all policies and procedures that guide and support the radiation oncology services provided. These include, but are not limited to, TJC requirements, federal and state regulations, professional standards, and cancer service line metrics/benchmarks. •Continuously assesses and improves the department’s performance by establishing, maintaining, and reporting meaningful key performance indicators, such as patient satisfaction, safety, quality and patient outcomes. •Maintains key data analytics used for planning, regulatory, and business decision making. •Enforces compliance with departmental processes to ensure consistency and efficiency. •Supports and abides by all hospital policies, including safety policies and practices. •In collaboration with the Director, develops and maintains a staffing plan for the department, detailing appropriate employee classifications and qualifications consistent with the department’s operational plan, projected volumes, and other relevant indicators. •Ensures compliance with the prescribed staffing plan. •Develops annual operating and capital budgets, monitors and analyzes performance and productivity and implements necessary corrective plans, in collaboration with the center Director. •Collaborates with center Director in budget preparation, determining capital priorities, monitoring and analyzing trends. Utilizes budget information in management decision-making. •Serves on organizational committees and community or organizations as needed and appropriate. •Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, other hospital departments and others. •Participates in marketing strategies to promote new or existing services. •Remains current in legislative and regulatory changes; participating and providing leadership in creating changes to improve the health of the community. •Pursues new concepts in Radiation Oncology and management practice. Mentors and coaches staff through change. •Facilitates and supports an electronic health record environment within the clinic and integration with other networks, departments as appropriate Mandatory: •Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement” •During your employment with Sarah Cannon you will be routinely assigned training requirements. You are expected to complete any training assignments by the due date. •Practices within the Department’s policies and procedures. •Works collaboratively with all members of the Department of Radiation Oncology Team to develop an efficient and positive work environment that promotes exceptional patient care. Competencies Knowledge: A body of information needed to perform tasks; May be obtained through education, training or experience •Demonstrated successful analytic, problem solving, organizational and prioritization skills. •General understanding of service line operations and clinical office procedures and practices; computer and filing systems; •Knowledge of radiation oncology billing and coding preferred. •Strong understanding and application of the business aspects of radiation oncology. •Knowledgeable in health care informatics-including the resources, devices and methods to acquire, store and retrieve data. Tools include computers as well as clinical guidelines, current medical terminology, information and communication systems. •Must be familiar with and committed to professional organizaiton standards (i.e. ONS, ACOS, CoC, ASTRO) •Has working knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices as well as current rules and regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other regulatory agencies.

Must have one of the following degrees: RTT, RN or BA in healthcare
1-3 years of recent experience in a radiation oncology department with progressively increasing managerial/supervisory roles.
3-5 years of managerial experience in hospital setting preferred
