Student Financial Services - United States - (20003227)
Acts as an independent, confidential, and impartial listener and facilitator to assist students and other University departments in resolving policy and procedural matters that impact a student's financial obligation, enrollment status, and standing at the University when students wish to drop some or all courses for a term. Acts as a central resource for the student service areas, channeling problems from and to them, obtaining answers and decisions from and for them, and advising students as to their options so they can make informed decisions. Directs students to the proper academic area when the problem is not financial in nature.
Provides a neutral and confidential setting to listen to and identify student account-related and financial problems. Explains student account notifications, due dates, payment options, collection policies, federal and state regulatory compliance, and University policies and procedures. Refers students with financial difficulties to University Collections for negotiation of payment arrangements, or to the financial aid office, as appropriate. Responsible for the administration of the University's residency policy governing the classification of students as in-state or out-of-state for tuition assessment purposes in keeping with state and federal laws that dictate, guide, or inform University policies and practices.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a higher education financial and/or academic role is beneficial; 5+ years preferred.
